THE OUTER SPACE

(Garage Jangly Rock'n'Roll from Bruxelles)

The Outer Space were born out of a drink between Matteo (sings and guitar, previously playing with Italian 60s bands) and Yvan (drums, currently also playing in the 60s Brussels band the Paperclips) in St Gilles, where the two shared their passion for 70s powerpop and 60s folk/garage rock. Immediately Yvan contacted François (backing vocals and guitar, formerly known in France as a member of the Snipers) and the three started playing together until Matteo revamped previous exchanges with Flupke (bass, a pillar of Brussels rock’n’roll scene).

After some rehearsals through cover versions of obscure past gems, including Miscommunication by Jode or One Time Around by Dalton, James & Sutton, the four started experimenting with original songs. The result is a mix of 60s folk-rock and 70s powerpop melted in a nice Janglin’ Rock’n’Roll, as they frame it.

A first single of the band was self-produced and distributed by independent labels in Italy, Greece and Spain, with acclaimed review in specialized magazines, including Shindigs! in the UK and Rumore in Italy. The band is now working into recording the many original songs they developed through time for a future dedicated Long-Playing record.
